U-FORCE CONTROLLER Broderbund 1989 |
The U-Force controller could detect the motion, velocity and direction of hand movements. This meant the controller allowed gamers to guide the actions on the screen without having to hold anything in their hands. The U-force recognized the hand waving translated them into commands, sent them to the NES, and they were copied on the screen. |
The Power Glove Mattel |
The Power Glove fit exactly like a glove over a players hand and controlled on-screen action with a flick of the wrist. The power glove sold moderatly, but was only a novelty and had no lasting value. |
The Power Pad Bandai/Nintendo, 1988 |
The Power Pad, sold as a part of the Family Fun Fitness package that included an athletic world cartridge. Nintendo later bought the rights to it and sold it along with a NES control deck and named it the Power Set. Sold for $179.95, The Power Set did not do as well as the other NES sets. |
Roll & Rocker LJN 1989 |
Probably the worst thing that ever came out for the NES. This wasn't even a controller. A NES controller plugged into it and the gamer stood on it. The controller signals were sent to the rocker, then to the NES. It took no batteries and didn't move on its own. It wobbled only by the person making it wobble. |
